Let's Beat Dementia - Diet & Exercise

There have been numerous tests on how simple changes to diet can help protect against Dementia and the following are a general listing.

  1. Reduce carbohydrates and processed foods
  2. Eat lean meat and fish
  3. Eat vegetables and fruit
  4. Reduce stress
  5. Try and achieve 8 hours sleep each night.
  6. Exercise for 30 minutes for at least 4 days each week.

Tests in Canada established that those that walked in the test group had a 2% increase in the Hippocampus ( the brain memory region) over those that were sedentary and that light exercise stimulated three memory areas of the brain.

Research has shown that eating leeks, onions and tomatoes which contain Apigenin aids the DNA repair system to destroy rogue cells.
